The easiest way to fund your Gatsby account is by linking your bank account through the App. Just navigate to Settings then click Transfer Money to Gatsby. ACH bank connections are verified via Plaid by providing your banking credentials.
In most cases, ACH transactions are added to your buying power the day after the transaction date and typically clear in 3 business days. Gatsby reserves the right to delay and/or withhold availability of any ACH deposit into buying power. ACH deposits are subject to a 65-day hold prior to their being withdrawn to a secondary bank account, disbursed via check, sent via wire or by other means.
Gatsby limits ACH deposits to a total of $20,000 every 65 days and limits buying power on ACH deposits to $1,000 until the funds clear. For deposit amounts over $20,000, a wire is the best way to transfer your funds to your Gatsby account. You can reach out to Support if you'd like to deposit over $20,000 via ACH, our banking team will review on a case by case basis. The instructions for a wire are outlined below and firstname.lastname@example.org can assist with any questions. Gatsby may change these limits from time to time.
Micro-deposits are an alternative way to link your bank account to Gatsby. Micro-deposits create a link by making a series of small deposits into your bank account. In order to initiate micro-deposits, you will need to provide us with your routing information and bank account number. Once we have those, we can initiate the micro-deposits. After you report the micro-deposit amounts back to us, we'll verify the connection!
You can enter your bank information through the app by navigating to Settings then click Transfer Money to Gatsby. Keep in mind, due to the lack of insight into your account, micro-deposit transfers are limited to $750 per day. To be able to transfer above that threshold, you can send us a copy of your bank statement. Wires are initiated at your bank by providing the details below to a bank representative or by entering them into your bank’s web-portal.

Transferring your account from another brokerage to Gatsby is a quick process, and our support team is happy to help you get up and running! In order to transfer your account, you'll need to complete the below steps.
- You'll need to have an open and approved Gatsby account.
- Complete the ACAT Form here.
- From there, the Gatsby team will walk you through the steps to get a transfer in place.
Typically, transfers are completed within 5-10 business days from their initiation. As a bonus, we’ll reimburse your account transfer fees up to $100 when you move your $1,500+ account to Gatsby! Please note, the reimbursement does not cover maintenance or termination fees charged by your current broker.

APEX Clearing Corp. places a hold on check deposits for 5 business days and will not disburse funds out of the account during this period. APEX Clearing Corp. does not re-deposit returned checks regardless of the reason and does not accept the following types of deposits:
- Cash/Currency Credit Card Checks
- Line-of-Credit/Line-of-Equity Checks
- Money Orders
- Third-party checks without management approval (any check drawn on a bank account other than the customer’s bank account or a check that is not made payable to APEX Clearing Corp.)
- Third-party foreign wires
- Traveler’s checks
For same-day processing, Gatsby must approve customer transactions by the following times: Wire Transfers 3:15 p.m. (Eastern Time) ACH Transfer Requests 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) Check Disbursements 10:30 a.m. (Eastern Time).
