The easiest way to fund your Gatsby account is by linking your bank account through the App. Simply navigate to Settings, then click Deposit Money. ACH bank connections are verified via Plaid by providing your banking credentials.
In most cases, ACH transactions are added to your buying power immediately after approval. However, a buying limit of $1,000 applies until the deposit clears. This generally takes 3 business days. Gatsby reserves the right to delay and/or withhold availability of any ACH deposit until funds have cleared.
The value of ACH deposits is limited to $20,000 in each 65-day period. ACH deposits are also subject to a 65-day hold prior to their being withdrawn to a secondary bank account, disbursed via check, sent via wire or by other means.
For deposits over $20,000, we recommend a wire transfer to your Gatsby account. Instructions on how to do this can be found below. To deposit over $20,000 via ACH, or if you have any other questions about funding your account, contact our support team at email@example.com
Note: Gatsby may change the limits outlined above from time to time.
Another way to link your bank account to Gatsby is via micro-deposits.
To initiate micro-deposits, you will need to provide your routing information and bank account number in the Gatsby app. Once we have these, we will initiate a series of micro-deposits into your bank account. You then enter the micro-deposit amounts in the app, which serves to verify the connection.
You can enter your bank information through the app by navigating to Settings, then clicking Deposit Money.

You’ll find your Apex account number in the app. From the home page, open the Settings tab, click Account then scroll down to the bottom of the page, and you’ll find it there.
Note: Due to additional processing required for bank to brokerage wires, it can take up to 24 hours for a wire to post to your Gatsby account.
Transfer your account from another brokerage to Gatsby in 3 simple steps:
- Open a Gatsby account.
- Once approved, complete the ACAT Form here.
- The Gatsby team will walk you through the transfer process.
Typically, transfers are completed within 5-7 business days. If you move $1,500+ to Gatsby, we reimburse up to $100 in account transfer fees (excluding maintenance or termination fees charged by your current broker).

Note: APEX Clearing Corp. places a 5-business-day hold on check deposits and will not disburse funds during this period. Returned checks will not be re-deposited regardless of reason. In addition, the following types of deposits are not accepted:
- Cash/Currency Credit Card Checks
- Line-of-Credit/Line-of-Equity Checks
- Money Orders
- Third-party checks without management approval (any check drawn on a bank account other than the customer’s bank account or a check that is not made payable to APEX Clearing Corp.)
- Third-party foreign wires
- Traveler’s checks
For same-day processing, the following timelines apply:
- Wire transfers: 3:15 p.m. (EST)
- ACH transfers: 3:30 p.m. (EST)
- Check disbursements: 10:30 a.m. (EST).
